When an item is available for FREE during Sale-a-Bration, that means it’s also only available for a limited time.  You really don’t want to miss this one.  Here’s a little Stampin’ Up! video to give you all the details:

Here’s a card I just made to show off this fun and Irresistibly Yours Speciality Designer Series Paper:

Nora's 8th birthday card

(Mind you, I wanted to make a purple-ish card for my granddaughter’s 8th birthday and Elegant Eggplant was just a little [like a lot] darker than I wanted but I was already into the card!  I was pleased with the overall outcome.  And so was she!)

This card stock has a shiny, embossed area, as well as a plain area.  When you add ink with either a sponge, a sponge dauber or a brayer, the ink will cover the entire piece of card stock.  I used the Balloon Framelits Dies to cut out the balloon shape.

Uninked card stock.

And then I ran the brayer over the ink pad several time before rolling it over the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Finally, wipe the excess ink from the card stock with a paper towel.  The ink that is on the shiny embossed area will be removed, revealing the white stripes.

After wiping with a paper towel, only the ink on the card stock itself remains.

My intention was to make this a shaker card.  First, using Snail Adhesive, I attached a pieces of Window Sheet, about 2-1/2″ square, over the balloon cutout, I placed bit and pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals around the area where I wanted the shaker pieces to stay.  It doesn’t have to be beautiful, just efficient!

Dimensionals surrounding the area where the shaker bits care correled.

Preparations for a shaker card

Lay a little pile of glitter or card stock hearts or ‘whatever’ in pile. Then remove all of the protective covering from the Dimensionals and lay that piece gently over the pile of glittery pieces.  TIP:  LESS IS MORE!  I put a little too much glitter in my pile and the shaking is a little clunky.

And here is your finished card. It’s easier than it looks, it’s fun and your recipient will have a little WOW for you!

I wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the card front so I carefully patted the area with my Embossing Buddy, stamped my greeting using VersaMark ink, sprinkled some old hot pink embossing powder from my stash and shook off the excess and finally heated the lettering with my great gentle Stampin’ Up! Heat ToolThe ‘blow’ on Stampin’ Up!’s Heat Tool is light and doesn’t blow the powder around like other heat tools.
