January is pretty much winter across the northern hemisphere, so I thought another bright card would be in order. I love it when my students oooh and aaah over our card when it’s revealed. And they did just that for both of January’s cards. I have to thank my stampin’ friend Mary Brown from Ohio for the inspiration for our second library card:
We used the fabulous Kinda Eclectic stamp set for that brilliant flowing sun that’s on the card and the envelope. For the little bit of SUNSHINE: we used the new Crazy about You 33 piece stamp set. It’s available in wood and clear mount as well as Photopolymer. Did you notice how I’m now storing my photopolymer stamps? Check the post right here. It’s easy peasy with just a little effort.
Measurements for this hello card:
- Whisper White card stock: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded for the card front; 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″
- Crushed Curry card stock: 2″ x 3-1/2″ scrap
Be sure to corner round the lower right corner of both the layer and the card front. It makes a neat little touch of interest!
Attach the hello with little bitty dots of the Multipurpose Glue.
Attach the layer to the card front with 5 Dimensionals.
TIP: I used parchment paper (this time) between the Crushed Curry card stock and the hello Thinlit Die when cutting it out with my Big Shot. It works great for gently removing the word hello from the die. Remember, if necessary, use a small stylus or tool that you have on hand for poking through those little holes in the die. Be gentle!
This is a really quick and easy card.
The Hello You Thinlits Dies and the Crazy About You stamp set can be purchased as a bundle, saving you 15%:
Either of those bundles alone would qualify you for a 2015 Sale-a-Bration item of your choice.
Just add an $8.95 item from any of Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs (maybe like the Love is Kindness stamp set ($8.00) or a pack of the newly released Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers (Bermuda Bay, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky or Wild Wasabi – $11.95 each set) and you will qualify for a Sale-a-Bration item.
If you like a certain card and want to make more of that specific card, layout, or color combination, then you could easily come up with a $50 minimum order to earn yourself one of the limited time Sale-a-Bration items.
Thanks so much for spending a bit of your Saturday with me. I’m glad you’ve stopped in. Have a great extended weekend. Most likely I’ll be popping back in on Sunday and for sure on Monday.
Be safe and happy stampin’! What a great thing to do for at least a few hours on the weekend.
