ORNAMENTAL PINE HOLIDAY PARTY INVITE

October 24, 2014

It has been my privilege for the past 10 years or so to create the Mi Wuk Village Homeowners Association’s (very loose group–no HOA type rules and regs, just mostly communication with full and part time residents) Holiday Party invitation.  It is sent out in the November issue of our Smoke Signals quarterly newsletter.

I almost always use My Digital Studio because it’s fun, versatile and easy.  So, this year I updated my computer’s operating system.  Then when I opened, or tried to open MDS, I was requested to update Java something-or-other which I did.  So now I can’t open My Digital Studio.  I just get a “nastygram”.  All that said, since I was very limited on time, I had to hand stamp my 2015 annual invitation.  That is not a bad thing.  It’s just that it doesn’t usually work for our printer.

I took it to him this morning, holding my breath, hoping it would work.  I made 2 invitations, stamped and attached them to an 8-1/2″ x 11″ piece of printer paper.  A 5″ x 7″ piece goes as an insert into that Smoke Signals newsletter.  Deep breath.  Fingers crossed.  They accepted it as presented!

Step 1:

Plain MAHA holiday party invitation

Plain, basic MAHA holiday party invitation.  I printed two of these.  (I’m still working with Pages to try to figure out how to do just two columns on a page.)

Step 2:

Hand-stamped MAHA invite

Two cut and trimmed hand-stamped MAHA (Mi Wuk Area Homeowners Assn.) invitations layered onto a piece of computer paper.

Step 3:

Final MAHA green invite

I knew the final invitation would be in ‘black/white’ and I think this worked out very nicely. Gotta just love the Ornamental Pine stamp set!!!

I just called Stampin’ Up!’s Demonstrator Support line by the way, and our Technical Support, knowing my problem, is going to send me the update for My Digital Studio.  Just another reason why I love Stampin’ Up!  We as demonstrators and you as customers get the best support.  You don’t get that in a big-box store.  If you ever, as a customer, have a product issue, please contact me.  If I can’t help you, I definitely know who can.  Don’t go along unhappy with an item you have purchased.  Ever.  Smile.

Now I have to finish setting up my Stampin’ Studio, aka My Country Loft, for this afternoon’s Christmas Card-a-thon.  The gals will be making 4 each of 3 cards.  I did a class last month and will be doing another one in early November.  What a fun way to get a head start on Christmas cards for special recipients!!!  I’ll be sharing them soon.

I have a very interesting post for tomorrow.  I hope to see you then.  And thanks for popping in today.  You all are my WHY I DO THIS.
