FINALLY I get to share two of the cards we made at last week’s Third Wednesday of the Month class.
This card was made with Pear Pizzazz card stock. I chose it because it was one of the colors used in the All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack, specifically on the piece I wanted to use.
The inside is totally stamped with the same snowflakes you see on the front flap. It’s light enough that you can easily write over it or stamp a greeting over it.
The Silver Foil Sheet tree shape was cut out with one of the dies from the Thinlits set and then run through the Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. After attaching the tree to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, I placed 5 Rhinestone Jewels for a bit of bling.
That snowflake that’s set on the swinging white snowflake was, honestly, a bear to cut out. Running it through the Big Shot was easy. Getting it out of the die was not! After several attempts, including several layers of waxed paper between the die and the card stock, I resorted to 6 layers of used (cheap) dryer sheets. I read this ‘somewhere’ and will share that ‘somewhere’ as soon as I relocate it. Bottom line: take 4 used dryer sheets, fold them in half, making 8 layers and lay them between your die and your card stock. They might cut through a bit but not all the way. Your card stock will cut through all the way. I attached the die cut snowflake with little dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Watch this Stampin’ Up! You tube video to see how to make that Whisper White snowflake. It’s easy!
The ‘joy’ was also not a ‘joy’ to get out of the die. Again: dryer sheets to the rescue. I used the Stampin’ Pierce Mat and a Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the little bits from the word after it had been removed from the die.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I love it when you do! I hope you enjoyed today’s card and will try making one yourself. I just love these ‘movement’ cards and you will too after you make one. They’re addicting. Click on any of the Supply Items below to be taken directly to my Stampin’ Up! store. Please. 🙂 And tomorrow………
