Last Saturday, in honor of Fire Prevention Week, our Station 77 in Mi Wuk Village, hosted a Family Fire Fest. All of the schools in the county (Tuolumne <<< can you pronounce it? County) were notified. Many of the local support services were there: American Red Cross, County Ambulance Service, Rangers from the US Forest Service (local Mi Wok Station) and volunteers from a local church applied free “wow” tatoos on anyone who wanted one. Yes, they washed off. Plus our fire fighters performed practice drills throughout the day. Oh, and not to forget—the kids got rides in our newest (20 yrs old!) fire rig. Their faces were awesome to behold.
All that said, I told our chairman, totally new to the department events, Rachel, that I would gladly make thank you cards. 40 of them.
Looking for a fire truck, I had to turn to a set that retired with last year’s catalog: You’re My Hero. I needed to keep the card fairly simple since there was limited time to get them made.
Because we live in the mountains I put the Epic Day Designer Washi Tape “road” on an uphill climb. A bunch (like 6 times 40 = 240) of wheels were stamped in Basic Gray, punched out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and then attached with Dimensionals. (It was really necessary to get the proper ‘look’.) The Thank-you image came from one of my favorite sets, Another Thank You photopolymer stamp set.
Thanks for checking in today and I look forward to seeing you much earlier in the day tomorrow.
