I really look forward to my monthly Card Buffets and another thing I look forward to is the ways participants modify their cards.
Here are two that I snapped photos of. First my card, then the modification.
And here is the card as Karen and Rose modified it:
The second modified card is this simple-ish one using three Santa/Elf hats. Here’s my version:
And here is Elizabeth’s version:
This card looks very clean and simple but, if you look carefully there are quite a few little steps along the way.
- coloring the striped hats with markers
- punching all three hats — and getting the pieces aligned in the punch
- stamping the pompoms and punching them individually
- stamping the fur rims of the hats and them punching them individually
- striking the lines along the four sides of the card
That still doesn’t really look like a long process but when you’re trying to make eight cards in 2-1/2 hours, while chatting and having some fun…….well, every little step adds up.
The other more time consuming card that seemed quick an easy, especially when the circles and letters were pre-die-cut was the JOY card above. It was those pesky little stars that took some time attaching to the card front. There is a great punch for punching gobs of stars with one squeeze, but attaching them still takes time.
I have an eight page PDF of all eight cards, complete with color card photo, supplies used, all measurements and step by step instructions available for the holiday price of $3.00. Just click the PayPal button below. As soon as I receive your payment, I will email your PDF directly to your inbox.
Don’t forget that today is the last day to take advantage of the 25% discount on some Stampin’ Up! stamp sets that will coordinate especially well with the new Stitched Framelits. The framelits are currently on backorder but you can order them and be notified when they are back in stock. Go for it!
